SUMMARY
Small, caespitose, shrubby, understorey palm to 3 m tall. Stems 1.2–2.0 cm diam. Leaves 9–11 per stem, pinnate, spreading; sheaths to 20 cm long, tubular, forming a crownshaft; petiole to 30 cm long; rachis to 1 m long; pinnae 4–7 per side, to 24 x 10 cm, ± trapezoid, sides not parallel, nerves diverging, apical margin praemorse. Inflorescences 1–3 per stem, inter- or infrafoliar, to 30 cm long; peduncle to 20 cm long, erect; rachis 4–5 cm long, erect; rachillae 4–6, to 15 cm long, ascending to spreading. Fruit 1.5–2 x 0.7–0.8 cm, ellipsoid, sometimes curved, tip unlobed, red.
